Spacey can't afford and doesn't need .rich is probably closer to the point, besides rod.rich is reserved so no go anyway

i guess the question is, would you reg it for $1,000 a year? Very much a vanity extension with no real purpose in my opinion

i find it interesting that the longer extension of .photography has many more regs compared to the shorter .photo and .photos

As a part time photographer, I can understand why.
Most people already own mynamephotrography.com (etc)
myname.photography actually shortens their domain name
It also is inherently descriptive
and there are heaps of photographers out there, amateur to professional who would find it useful.
Shortening to .pics .photo .photos doesn't really say "I'm a photographer"
the complete opposite of .rich

the reason would be that photographers have an elevated potential for EGO some 400% more then any other species.

Canon is my brand, them's fighting words 
The only glass worth owning for a canon is L series and Zeiss glass. lol.
I hang around on enough photography sites/groups that it is obvious that it is an ego driven industry. That easily explains the vanity of owning a .photography domain

Would say it is a few things,
-First mover advantage
-They did promotion to the photography community
-The uniregistry tlds (.photo) aren't available at most big registrars so would expect a much lower count.

Also, most photographers are fairly tech savvy and aware of the need for a good domain name.

I'm not a fan of the new extensions but i couldn't refuse to register 'Animation.Marketing' especially after reading about the mega bucks spent investing into this type of media -

Interesting that some folk state they are not keen on these but grab one or two anyway, i am a little in the way of thinking you either accept them or you don't, not specifically you. I am just noticing many detractors still dip their toes in …. these are interesting times. I think the .london and .berlin gtlds have an automatic groundbase to land on. Only early days for the internet in the big scheme of things.
