The irony is that AusRegistry is now not in a position to benefit from all their lobbying/influence with auDA.
I am fairly sure some at Aus(US)registry may work out a way to profit...Let's see who the winner of the invited tender is and new auDA staff to "build" auDA's Wholesale Registry.....Ausregistry reaped $hundreds of millions in profits over the years. Enough is Enough.
This is why that tender should be open and advertised or we may see more of the same behind closed door dealings.. and auDA/ auDA Board sign offs again.
Whatever auDA does it needs to completely cut ties from Golden Gate / Neustar / Ausregistry and take them off the auDA Board asap. Everyone seems to now agree the conflict of interest was allowed to go on for too long.
Some good reading about the ASIC REGISTRY / Database TENDER

"It's a monopoly asset so we want to make sure that when a private company owns a monopoly asset … Obviously they will be charging as much as they can so you need some regulatory arrangements stopping them from taking advantage of that," he said.
Mr Sims said the government would need to introduce strict rules for any private buyer.
"What we've seen, with some ports for example, is that there has been privatisation without any real regulation," he said.
