I am seeing a lot of ads for Monday/Com on youtube lately. I listen to the Comedy Bang Bang podcast and they often have ads for Leesa/Com ...... another mattress company that offers a mattress that will ship in a box and then "pop" into shape when the box is opened ......ummm

I don't think success has that much to do with the domain name in this case and everything to do with their other advertising

I don't think the fact that it's a .com has made any difference but it will be easier to look globally now. I see that the the domain shows as au.koala.com when I visit the website. My comment was more regarding the koala name because it's unrelated to the product and they've spent big money on blanket advertising to direct people to the website. They've done a good job.

With the Australian Dollar so low it's become an expensive exercise to buy a good .com domain now with everything trading in US Dollars. By the time you factor in the bank exchange rate you can almost double the price. Will this virus affect domain prices?

It is about 50% more, ie $100 is around $150 in AUD. PayPal/Bank will add on around 5% in terms of giving a really bad exchange rate.

Yes virus will crunch domain values, startups will have a lot of trouble fundraising so enduser demand will drop with it. I would suggest offering 25% less than what you might have offered a month ago.

Probably drop those numbers another 5-10% given today. Brokers seem to be trying to “move stock” with clients who suddenly need to sell.

Good money in professional toilet paper trading though.

Yep I forgot about the 20% broker commission that I had to pay. By the time I paid that and the bank rate it almost doubled the cost of the domain name.
