The rising popularity of .Com in Australia

Sounds like the Chinese are getting desperate, multiple failed auction attempts to sell 2,600 5 number .coms.

2,665 great 5 number .COM domains are on 4.cn Theme Auction, with reserve price lowered again. The owner stated that this will be the last auction. After this auction the domains will go out of the market / not for sale anymore. So please grab the last chance to bid. The auction starts to close on Wednesday, May 6th, 2020, at 7AM EDT (7PM Beijing time, UTC/GMT + 8:00).

There are as many as 2,665 domains so the auction will last until May 25th, 2020. There will be 250 domains ending every day, from Monday to Thursday. There should be at least one domain you may want to bid for this time.

You may check all the domain names on the auction here:

Hey Vaccine's not cheap ($25,000 on the dark web) This was ambitious to say the least. If you flood a market there can only be cheapy's on offer

Another example of why .com.au is best avoided. How is it hat very generic names like this get deleted by internal staff decisions rather than a proper auDRP dispute? Bizarre.

Wonder what the auDRP is even for if auDA are now doing stuff like this?

Yes I do agree but normally an 8 would surpass a 4, zeros are ok if at the end. 84 and 48 are considered good number combinations, this is domaining so ....

The Australian Financial Review switched from AFR.com.au to AFR.com quite a few years ago but it seems now they aren't even bothering about AFR.com.au resolving any more. Been like that for a few days.
