Direct Registrations delayed....

auDA have sent out an update about direct registrations. It's time they faced facts and called the farce off.

https://www.auda.org.au/news/update...registrations-and-the-new-au-licensing-rules/

"As you know, direct registration will extend to more users the many benefits of using a .audomain name."

Um, actually no that is complete bullshit.

"For these reasons, the auDA Board has this week decided to conduct an additional three-month long public consultation aimed at promoting awareness among new audiences, sharing more widely our plans to simplify the licence rules, and thoroughly understand and avoid any potential implementation issues."

And to gauge the outrage from the current owners of .com.au domains when the penny drops.

Dear unrepresentative and unelected auDA board, please consider dropping the implementation to save your careers and Australia from this mistake.

Simplify licensing rules...LOL
Millions spent on Bullshit, did you know the CEO Cameron Bordman and the Board all knew what the licensing rules were going to be before the PRP announced their anti-domain investment propaganda. Employing the likes of Hanke and Patton to undermine domain investors with lies about warehousing and profiteering. Lies which the auDA board and CEO did nothing to offset but enabled.
Look whose on the nominations committee, mostly those convinced of those lies, those respected individuals who got their seat through idiotic posturing against Domainers.

If it actually happens (which I doubt) bank on a disastrous launch.

No chair, no CEO, someone from Box Hill Tafe now at the reins.

And now, auDA back flipped on the No allocation rule, possibly revering back to the old monetization rule or something the PRP regurgitated. LOL.

I particularly enjoyed the letter from Suze saying public consultation will consist of amongst other things "public forums in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra."

C'mon auDA bring out the bus and and do a roadshow! The rest of Australia also has the interwebs ffs.

I've got to admit reading the DoCA letter is pretty amusing.

https://www.auda.org.au/assets/Uploads/DOCA-letter-to-Ms-S-Ewart-5.8.19.pdf

Contrary to some commentators who've rolled over, the process hasn't been followed, it has been been gamed and ignored.

For example the auDA board decided outcomes before getting ACCC feedback and major "consumer" stakeholders were not engaged.

That's just auDA doing what they do best.

The letter seems to imply that auDA have no clue what they are doing. I think the government isn't go to let them doing anything for along time and its seems the level of oversight and mistrust is increasing further.

They must have laughed their asses off when Leptos told them he wanted no government oversight at board meetings.

I’m growing a little bit fed with how things have gone the last few years.. Reminds me of the Brexit issue.. uncertainty, low confidence & no commitment to a plan!

Everyone has a choice here. My opinion is just don't investment, the tld is a mess and it may take a decade or two to recover from all of this.

They said they were going to educate the public...

"For these reasons, the auDA Board has this week decided to conduct an additional three-month long public consultation aimed at promoting awareness among new audiences, sharing more widely our plans to simplify the licence rules, and thoroughly understand and avoid any potential implementation issues."

Since that announcement, we've had silence.

Here's some evidence that they are just playing games and aren't serious. Check the number of views on their video from April 2019 (less than 1,500 see link - "youtube.com/watch?v=uOn7nPRrD9k"). There's over 3 million domains registered. That's a massive failure to communicate.

How hard would it be to email every single domain holder?

Why hasn't this been done over the last 3 years?

Its all very simple, they didn't pay attention to simon, nicole, ned and me for ANYTHING !
not to mention all the domainers and business people who played major rolls in submissions and providing irrefutable evidence of certain failure.
AND nothing has changed, so to continue along these lines is a complete waste of money.
don't waste time doing case studies, just ask a business person and tell them the REAL story /costs and potential nightmares associated with a .au .

The funniest thing I have seen recently was a billboard along a highway (last week) by Angelo/Ventraip proclaiming that .AU is coming and that Ventraip is the home of .AU.

Clearly they didn't get the message that auDA has imploded. .AU will never come.
