Do you find the larger screen (compared with previous iPhones) noticeably nicer to use?

yes, the new screen it just that bit longer (enough to get another row of apps in), it is the same width as the iPhone 4 screen, but it is much clearer and has better colour display

I called my wife and she could straight away the difference in call quality. It was certainly louder on her end as well.

Yes thats the other thing, call quality is just amazing 4G to 4G

I had a look at one in an Apple store today. I like the design, but I wonder if some users will find it a bit less "upmarket" than previous versions?

The larger screen is a definite plus over the iPhone 4 I have here and the phone itself is still nice and compact. I think the biggest improvement for me though over the 4S would be the 4G.

It is on the bottom as opposed to being on the top for all the earlier versions.
iPhone 6 will probably shift it to the left side! Talk about leading edge design.

I think the most telling part of the new design is the "Lightning" connector.
It can be plugged in without regard for orientation.
Apparently Apple Fanbois have trouble figuring out their "orientation".
