would facebook have reached this level if it originally charged $1 to join? no
what if it did it now? now that every one is hooked? $1 p/a? probably yes.
just chatted with a friend who is a FB type person, when pushed she said she would pay $5 p/a if they got rid of the ads in her timeline.
well then thats $5 bil p/a, not so bad? googles 2012 adwords income was 42.5bil.

so they don't click and thus revenue EXPECTATIONS drop and thus share price.

I think the thing about Facebook ads is you can make good ROI from them if you know what you are doing. Their is still some really good high quality low cost traffic.
I will admit I do not use Facebook as much as I once did, but that been said I do have some huge properties I have built on Facebook that still do ok. But that been said I notice that Facebook is hitting people trying to use it for organic reach (lowering edge rank) very hard. I notice from my own pages I test example below:
They are really trying to push every one to ads.

Tell them to use https://adblockplus.org to block ads. It's handy if you don't want ads.
But the line between an ad and promoted content is blurring...

so i suggest you understand that everyone has talents and we all can't know everything, so bitcoin doesn't interest me and i accept you know alot about them, but my interest is a bridal dress, hair and makeup also, myopia and especially amblyopia are of GREAT interest to me right now.
once again, is you intention to destroy the thread? and every thread?

How anyone involved in domains, websites, technology etc etc cannot know about Adblock is very strange. It's fitting that you would be clueless about it though given you're nothing more than a clueless salesman.
Adblock has everything to do with what you posted and the Facebook comments. Bitcoin doesn't so much and I suspect you're just taking a dig which means you are the one destroying the thread (and forum which you have pretty much already done).

I've been playing around with computers since '94 and started registering domains in 2001.
I wasn't aware of a thing called Adblock until I read this thread.
Obviously I'm very strange too...

How is responding to Tim about Facebook and ads off topic?
How someone can not know about Adblock - either from the perspective of blocking ads OR how it impacts your own websites, advertisements and revenue is on topic give Tim brought up ads and Facebook.

It's the personal attacks that are off topic.
Not everyone knows everything, it's one of the reasons we network and share with each other on DNTrade. Tim is a great contributor and like any other member he deserves respect, even if you're not on the same page.
