thanks for you help everyone, i was confident on version 3 and sent it to the client and its been approved, his wife approves and helena approves so now to do the internal pages for listings.

all the functionality is done so this is actually the easiest bit.

Search box breaks it up nicely ..... not as cluttered now

Inconsistent colour of blue text > "e.g. Business, Company or Browse by Category"

Also don't think capitals are required in that text.

Plus there should be an extra space where the * is > "e.g.*location or Postcode"

I don't like the border on the search box. Too thick, is it needed?

i agree with all that,
colour scheme yes, needs to get back to 3-4 hex relative colours

can you clarify what capitals are bothering you?

border: i think i want it to stay but i agree its to thick. i'm also going to add some padding between it and the image rows.

I don't think "Business, Company or Browse by Category" should have capitals. I don't think it's warranted.
