Contested .au direct applications - is the process working?

I have a couple of .au direct applications that I did NOT renew, yet when I check auDA's priority status tool (https://www.auda.org.au/tools/priority-status-tool) the applications are still showing as current, and the whois is still showing "Priority Hold" for those particular .au direct domains. I have confirmed that these applications are not live - they are showing as "deleted" at the registrar (Synergy)

Is the process working as it should?
Has anyone won domains subsequent to application renewal, with the other interested parties not renewing?
Do other people still have "Live" applications even though they have not renewed?

I just posted about this also, I noticed some charges for domains we do not own. Do we keep paying for these until the other party pull outs.

Each registrar does it differently. At Drop you get a list of names you are still in contest with others and your choice if you wish to renew your claim or not....
as soon as all other parties stop and do not renew, you are automatically assigned the .au
