Over a hundred and getting less every day ... my point was anyone who collects anything goes a little crazy with their obsession, just human nature. The world is changing though, all that old oak furniture imported from England really doesn't have appeal anymore. I actually do have a few "music" comics Jimi Hendrix, AcDc etc but just for fun and the cover artwork. Basically I do think a "digital investment" is the best contemporary form of having a finger in the pie. Be it Bitcoin or Domains and whatever else our modern world has to offer??

Far out. I remember when i was in year 12 i had 66 Bitcoins valued at $13 each - wish i had of kept them!
Wow! Mind you, it's easy in hindsight. Not many people have held from $13 until now without selling off some or all of their coins along the way. There are plenty who lost the lot at Mt Gox too. What happened to yours?

Tulip syndrome ?
I don't believe so, however, while I think it's extremely unlikely, it's possible that the whole thing could trace back to zero.

My opinion is that the technology is not going away, and even if there is a massive crash at some point, the price will eventually recover and go even higher. This is what happened when the price fell from 1,100 USD in late 2013 to 200 USD by mid-January 2015. As was the case then, the crash will be the time to buy, not sell.

That is very true, the temptation of selling when seeing %1000+ increases in price would be too great. I ended up selling mine for some schoolies spending money, spewing :p.

Recommendations is a strong word in such a speculative space, but I'll do my best.

In my opinion, the best indicator as to whether a cryprocurrency has a long term future is related uptake and how much they are actually being used and applied to practical purposes. At the moment, I would rate the three leaders in this area as Bitcoin, Ether and Litecoin.

Outside of these three, the one I like is Decred (pronounced Dee-cred, as in, short for decentralised credit). To me, the structure, development and principles behind it seem nicely streamlined and make more sense to me than many of the newer coins that are out there. The official website for it is Decred.org. It launched in February 2016 and was created by some former Bitcoin developers in an attempt to overcome some of the problems that they saw with Bitcoin.

Here is a chart of the price. I think there is plenty of upside, even at the current price. Then again, it is a cryptocurrency, so I could be wrong.

If you've got Bitcoin and are looking to increase your holdings without injecting any more cash, then keep holding.
More cryptocurrency dividends for holders of Bitcoin are on the way, in the form of Bitcoin Diamond and Super Bitcoin.
Once received, these altcoins that will be created through hard forks of the Bitcoin blockchain can be sold, allowing you to purchase more BTC.
