Agree, it is really worth doing a little onpage SEO, it goes a long way. You would get better results than having to buy backlinks for rankings IMO.

I believe it is but you need your onpage SEO sorted out before worrying too much about linkbuilding.

The reason I have been putting off the on page SEO is that I am about to do a 2nd stage of development.

There is going to be quite a bit of substantial changes, but yes am in the process of fixing the Meta title, meta description, keywords. And improving the Keyword density on the homepage.

I am surprised it is ranking at all! The SEO guy I spoke with condemned it immediately for duplicate content. <--- Can someone please give me advice on this?

i don't think it is totally relevant, i like to see the date it is produced before considering advice, i think its probably at least a year old or more

Google.com.au ... I think all the links are very high quality. Wordpress.org is one of them etc etc etc!!!

The thing is I have been trying to outsource the SEO for awhile now. Have found a really good contractor, but he is telling me I likely have been filtered by Panda due to publishing duplicate eBay content and that the Hipster.com.au domain may be ruined as a result.

Maybe this is why I cannot get Hipster to rank for anything other than Hipster? There are plenty of other major onsite things like Robots.txt, XML Sitemap, title tags so very likely I am jumping to conclusions.

Does anyone know how I can find more info about this? I have checked my Google Webmaster Tool and there are no messages indicating I have been. it does mention I have duplicate title tags, which I have read is an indication of duplicate content.

Thinking about tagging all affiliate links with "no follow" "no index" or "Canonicalization" or 301 redirect. <--- Is this a good idea?

Worst comes to worst I have another domain I can work on. This time there would be affiliates / eBay, but would prefer to stick with Hipster. It really is a lot of fun!

Why would Google rank a site like that well? Need to start from scratch and no I do not mean doing more SEO. It probably needs a lot less thought on SEO and a lot more thought on what the site is for exactly. Buying links will not turn this into something viable.

ok i was wrong on my date, but also what i meant is if i saw the date above the video i personally would have been more likely to view the video.

i visit many sites and bounce straight out of them because of this.
