Wow $13,300

I didn't see that coming!

The metrics aren't what I'd call mind blowing...

Thoughts?

Its certainly a high paying niche but this seems to be a case of auction frenzy. THe metrics (even for alternative phrases, etc) aren't massively high, but the name is sound and brandable. Worthwhile to the end user that snapped it up.

But are they REALLY an end user? They are an internet marketing company that specialises in gambling related domains and website development according to their site...

Yeah I thought about whether or not they would be classified as an 'end user'. Since their business is focused on gambling and development of that niche I would say they could be considered an end user to some extent?

Didn't see that coming either.
I had it pegged for a $500 to $2000 sort of domain.

I though the fact the term "free" was in the domain might stifle the value...

:p

but I think it's a great buy.
At the end of the day it looks like 3 people thought it was a $10,000+ domain (obviously two were willing to pay $13,300 and given bidding ended at $10,000 on drop I assume one of the two top NF bidders didn't bid on Drop) which is always a good sign that there is good value.

Interesting one, very high bids yet only "medium" competition, I guess that it to do with licensing/difficulty of getting into the industry.

Cracking Domain

Go to Free Bets to get your $500 worth of free bets - dollars when you sign up blah blah blah.

Worth another zero to who picked it up.

Its a good buy.

Particularly if your a bookmaker - Panda have been end users for a long time = bookmaker.com.au, races.com.au

Well yes - its only job is to drive traffic - in that sense it is a domainer site - Its certainly not what you would call a racing industry site.

but the thing is live bet and bet live, no affiliate offers go with this,

I see many affiliate offers with the "Free Bet" & "Free Bets" tag line.

I mean I have played a bit in the Sportsbetting area, free bets is one of the better converting areas from my study.

with any of these domains its the $$$$ you have behind it to make it happen.

i stand by livebets, it says INSTANT to me.

freebets rings scam to me.

but i know nothing i don't gamble!

anyone still think theres no money in domain names? The domain name .au market is going crazy as more and more people see the light... its only getting higher and higher it seems.

Cant believe the price that name went for. Imagine what a portfolio like OMG's / Fairfax Medias would be worth in $$ dollars with over 30,000 names! http://www.omg.com.au/
