Hi,
Can I get an idea of price on these domain names. I don't want to steer buyers away with unrealistic prices but my names are more directed at someone trying to start up a Domain Name Reseller site (or Auction Site). Here is a list of my names:

NameReseller.com.au
NameResellers.com.au

DomainNameTrader.com.au
DomainNameTraders.com.au

They are going to be sold with No Reserve in the next 30 days on www.netfleet.com.au/aftermarket-auctions so that why I need an idea of price.

Thanks

Why do you need an idea of price if you are selling no reserve?

You will know exactly what they are worth soon enough.

Wow! I was told this forum would be helpful and I'd get some great hints and tips from some experts. The first question I ask and all I get are smart remarks (not helpful at all).

Anyway, just in-case there is anyone willing to help in this "Domain Appraisal" thread: I have set a no reserve because I have no idea of price. I was told that there would be evaluators on here that could help guide me.

Thanks

There is no smart remarks here, these names simply aren't worth anything. You'll see that within 30 days.

I don't see it that way, and I think johno69 has a valid point.

Personally I can't see much value in these names as undeveloped they are just ideas and the keywords are not that strong. The amount of potential buyers for these domains is also limited imho.

But as stated we will find out soon enough and hopefully I am proved wrong. Try not to take offense, you did ask for appraisals after all!

Hi Rookie,

In an aftermarket/reseller style sale I think the realistic value IS in fact close to $0. HOWEVER, if you can find someone in the industry who wants to use the domain for their brand, you might be able to strike lucky in the low $XXX region.

Hope that helps a little :)

I don't see a lot of value in these either.

You may not like the feedback you're getting, but I suspect the sales results will mirror the sentiment here.

If you're going to target the 'domainer' market, my advice would be to go with a global focus (I.e .com), and even then it's not a very profitable space to play in unless you're at a much higher price point.

My advice would be to avoid domains like these. Chances are no one will ever come knocking on your door and you'll just keep wasting reg fee each year.

Hi Domains,

I know it can come across a bit harsh, but it's tough love. I'm leaning towards what Scott has estimated.

To get a feel for keywords and value people refer to in the Appraisal threads, check out the following article by David Lye on Google Keyword Tool:

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Hello Domains,

I also agree with most of the comments above.

Users of this forum have given their honest opinion of what they expect them to go for, mostly based on metrics. Having said this, you are speaking with domainers here - if you can find someone looking for an easy to remember brand/business name for a domain trading business I'd expect the figures would be more encouraging.

I expect you'll get some interest in DomainNameTrader/s.com.au and I'd suggest packaging the plural - as a package I'd still guess around $200. I predict NameResellers will be passed in.

People will give you their honest opinions on here. Be mindful however, we're not all domain valuation experts but most users are fairly experienced and have bought/sold many domains. In fact (imo) some of the commenters would be among the most experienced in the AU market.

I, like everyone else on DNTrade hope the above predictions are wrong and you get a great price (as this is good for us all). In future, if you don't want a valuation discussed on the public forum consider msg'ing some of the older users privately for advice.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the advice. I agree, I actually don't expect much more than the low hundreds (if i can get it). But after seeing a domain name called "domainname.net.au" has just sold for $2,000 (and it's only a .net.au) on www.netfleet.com, I got a bit curious, so I listed it.

Thanks for the help and even if it doesn't sell at the end of the auction, I'll keep a hold of it and try advertising it at a later date.

Thanks...

You can't get any more generic though.

Considering names like domainnamesellers.com.au* are freely available for hand rego, I can't see much value in these.

*not for long now I bet.

Drop when renewal is due and move on to better names, that is my suggestion.

Really, that's interesting! Please show me the names. I would like to have a look.

Did you look that one up?

Thanks Johno69,
Is "sellers" a good name? I'm not sure!

About as good as traders. No.

Neither of those terms have any local search at all.

Can you find me another one please...

Would you like me to make you a coffee while i'm at it?

I offered an appraisal as requested. I did a quick search and the first I looked up was available. I've spent enough time on this one.

Cheers.

"domain name" is a highly sort term by registrars domain resellers and domainers and can be easily monetised.

domain name traders only real use I can see for it is a forum or auction platform both take a lot of time and effort.

.net.au domains rank just as well as .com.au .com.au does get a better CTR

however if the .com.au is not developed or partially developed and you develop a .net.au there is a pretty good chance you will rank high in the search engines and will outrank the .com.au
