Hi guys,

Was going through my domain list again this evening and came across:

support-desk.com.au
support-desk.net.au

Any value on these to anybody? :D

So you've taken a keyword that isn't popular, added in a hyphen just to make sure nobody ever gets to the site, and then for if that wasn't enough registered it in the .net.au as well. Take the opposite road at each stage and you'll be on the right path.

With all due respect Snoopy - I had registered it for business purposes (having a support desk for clients) and as I had not got around to physically migrating my existing support system across, I thought someone else who might of thought of doing the same thing but needed to find a domain name to fit; it's very easy to tell a client to go to support-desk.com.au then xyzdomainname.com.au/support - well that's my opinion anyway.

In saying that, i dont think your comment had any merrit - sometimes you might just need to bite your tongue.

How is it easy to tell clients a name with a hyphen in it?

The slash support would be much the same in terms of difficulty in communicating it and probably more logical given it is based on the company name and a website they may already know. But the fact is you decided not to use it (for whatever reason) and I think you'll have a very hard job getting any interest in it. We will soon know whether my comments have any merit on this name.

I wasn't expecting anything great to be offered; I agree that from a keyword & marketing point of view it's not by any means a domain name that can be monetized. But it can be used to for a number of purposes, especially if you provide white-label services like I do for web design firms.

would guess around $100 to who knows to an end user..
I could see it being setup as well a support desk to remotely fix other home and office pcs however supportdesk.com.au might have an issue with this and has been registered longer.

To get a true value throw it on the aftermarket and see if you get any bites
