Yeah we seem to be getting more end users coming through the site.
I had a $25k sale fall though last minute on a 2 word generic a few weeks back because the owner insisted upon having a binding contract drawn up which delayed the process and gave the prospective buyer time to have a rethink.

My mistake, alumni actually sold for $2,000 ex GST not 4k!

Yeah that's what I thought at first. But no, it's a genuine generic industry term.... and widely used too it seems.

I think last year jobs.net.au sold for around 4k... and i would think that it would go higher than webdesign
Maybe people are paying more overall for domain names... and that's why the prices are higher than last year.
I can only imagine how much webdesign.com.au would go for...

Yes jobs.net.au went for $4,500.
I guess the buyer is an end-user (web designer, I suspect) looking to start out or rebrand on the net. They would probably be committing hundreds of thousands of dollars to the venture so what's $10K to get a great domain name?
If more businesses thought like this they'd do so much better that trying to brand on a mediocre domain compromise (and we'd do better too )
