I'm the winner unless James is going to pip me, registered about 250 au domains recently, all geo's with hotels on the end. I believe I now have the largest portfolio of geos' with hotels in the name in Australia, I'm hoping to have them all up and running by the end of the month. Heres just a few of them, a couple of them I already had, but was amazed no one has bothered to register these popular areas, 25% are net.au and 75% are.com.au.

I like the first the best as you can make good subdomains eg: gold.coasthotels.com.au although the last is a goody as well.

Yeah soj, have the dns done, templates done, still waiting on some software, should be ready this week and couple of other thing. Will keep me of the streets for a while.

Yeh, 250 is a lot of domain names... i only have just over a hundred in my whole portfolio. The only hotel one is findhotel.com.au
I'd be interested to know how you can develop all those domains so quickly. Is the info going to be generic across all domains? Or do you have a team of cheap content creators working for you night and day? The reasons i'm asking is because it takes me weeks to develop a single domain let alone 250.

Hi Ross,
Yes it is a lot and I will doing it all myself as the templates are all the same, just different colours eg : Holidaystays mini sites. Content will be different on all the sites as it is data file fed from Hotelscombined, I will have to update data once a month to keep it up to date.
Car rental enquiries from each site will go to my other site www.car-rental.com.au and anyone wanting to book flights from the sites will be directed to my goldcoastairport.com site.
Tours I have taken care of for most of the sites. I guess its wait and see how they rank, but type in traffic would have to be considered due to 75% are the best domains for the keyword term and I would be estatic just to get one click on each website a day, not to mention adsense.
I can do about 10 websites a day without going bonkers, so I should have most done in 30 days. I also have another 50-100 domains more I will be doing the same eg: londonhotels.net.au . portvilahotels.com.au and so forth.
Either it will work great or be a big failure, Im hoping for the first.

Maybe do a test on 10%
Hey, consider going a test with your best 10% domains ... and see if it works. If it does, roll it out to the 90% ... and if it doesn't then do something else.
Going through 250 domains is a lot... so maybe give 25 a go.
This will prevent the project being a failure, while still giving the opportunity to make it a success

Nah thanks for your thoughts, but I'm either go all or none, plus its a numbers game when doing bulk websites. A bit like parking domains, but slightly better.
I have found with geo's that some domains you think will work great can be very competitive, hard to rank and others you least expect can rank top 3. Now finding out which one's is where all the fun is.
Even if I only get a 1/3 ranking well it's going to be a success.

Yes David, I am keeping an eye on them, had all the templates up last week and about 110 domains were on page 1 of Google another 80 on page 2 of Google. So I did get a bit excited, but Google has now moved them. The ones which had a small amount of text content are still staying the same which is only about 10 domains and 60% are on page 1, so I am now waiting for the next google bot round to see if the others come back to where they were before with content. So far all is looking good.
