How many hours do you sleep?

i'm reading a book at the moment about this and i thought it could be an interesting topic, if anyone wants to jump in and create a poll then please do.

i'll start, i sleep 10 hours per day, 8 hours are sleep and 2 hours are semi thinking hours in bed, i like to plan my day laying down !

no crude remarks please, lets keep this above board

but i now live in melbourne, when i lived in cairns the temps FORCED me to spend my thinking time out of bed.

I know people who only sleep 4 hours a day and have forever so i just hope this isn't asking to much private info for most people.

i view sleep as optional depending on workload, so i may well decide to work till dawn and then sleep all day if something needs to be done.

i suppose the freedom of self employment, would love to hear others thoughts.

What book? I'm glad I'm not dealing with the Melbourne cold this winter. As for sleep, I'm usually in bed around 1-2am, up around 6-7am but usually have a nap for 1-2hrs after lunch.

hey thanks for sharing, keep it coming, i was surprised when i was talking to a friend today.... not a domainer... and when i asked him he said he slept from 10pm to 2am ! then hopped up and did some work before going for a run at sunrise and going to work at 8am !

i've known him 11 years and never knew that was his routine.

Since I posted 50 I have found the 20min power nap in the afternoon was a great way to stay fresh until later in the evening

I feel guilt though with staff around

I have young children so they generally decide how long I can sleep

If I have less than 6 hours then it does affect my concentration later in the day

sleep is so important and you can sleep but wake up tired, throw in a couple of kids and you're stuffed, i can't sleep during the day except xmas day after lunch ... a few beers and warm sunshine.

REM is the crucial time, i'm also learning about the 24 hour body clock where each organ has its own time frame to regenerate and if you are not rested at that time it misses out, kinda like trying to clean the MCG with some of the crowd still hanging around.
