GOOGLE DOT COM - how to get a dot com search

I can't recall which thread it was, in but it was only recent, that there were comments about the difficulty in getting to Google.com "Search" because it always defaults you back to .au - this is a pain if you are trying to see your SERP's for .com domains.

For those having issues try this (works for me) - in your Google account go to Adwords and then Keyword Tool and do any old search then on the result use the drop down arrow and select "Google Search" from the menu - this gives you a dot com search. I saved the url to my favourites and when I use it I obviously change the search in the search box but it always stays as Google.com - now finally I can see SERPs as would someone in the U.S. doing a search.

cheers,
Mike

To get right to the main google.com you can use the URL:

google.com/ncr

Thought I'd post this in case it turns out to be easier for someone. It's been what I've been doing over quite some years now I think, still keeps working.

All links lead to Google! Good to know the ways to see past the country filters.
Thanks all, I'll probably use a bit of each in future.

Google knows by your IP that you are in Australia, so it will give different results to someone in another country no matter what google you use

/ncr wont neccessary show you USA results as your Australian IP will still revert back to the Australian datacentre

Best way is to use a VPN or proxy from USA (Hidemyass). Or you could try changing the search results url string to the Google of your choice.
