Don't know if it translates or not but NZ is a tiny market. Wouldn't necessarily expect it to be taken.

Hey guys
Yes you must always check that a keyword term is used in another country before you spend your $$$.
From what I can tell the term Owner Build / Owner Builders is not used very much at all in NZ.
With a population of 4.5 million, NZ is about the same population as Queensland so yes it is a small market.
That being said, it still comes down to what value a domain can bring to an end user for a particular market. If it is a big ticket item that the domain is related to, then even in a smaller market size of 4.5 million it could be well worth the purchase price.
In terms of both the domains I sold recently, Owner-Builder.com.au & Owner-Builders.com.au, the buyer is a very smart cookie and is already very successful in that space.
As far as hyphenated domains are concerned, I always agree that unhyphenated domains are the best all things being considered BUT a well developed hyphenated domain can still achieve great results if built out correctly.
