Domain name Transfer pricing needs lowering

The pricing of transfering registrant in Australia needs more competition. I might be wrong but many registrations for other extensions can be done at no cost ( godaddy do free domain transfers between go daddy account holders)

If its a " manual" process as some would argue here maybe its time australia caught up with technology and automatced the process as they have done for many other countries extensions.

As for pricing if a new registration can be had for as little as $23 how can some domain registrars / resellers be charging so much more than this? Can any registrar / reseller here implement technology to allow registratnt transfer for parties that both have accounts with them? ( like go daddy.com)

Please dont be too fast to say " its manual and should be charged higher" remember back to when Melbourne IT charged over $120 for domain names?? I think this will prove a similiar example of the past wrongs of the .au extension and market in a year or two.

I think the problem is that signatures are required, the only way to automate this is by using digital signatures - but this seems to be a grey area in terms of auDA policy compliance AFAIK.
