We earn it, we spend it, we invest it, we blow it, we lend it, we trade it, exporters and importers keep an eye on it and set prices by it and the ASX and various shareholders count on it being strong.

Thoughts? Or is it just an elephant in the room?

BTW.....about 1.06 US...I know :D:D:D

Au Dollar and Australian Dollar return the same results in Google, all currency related.

The 'Au Dollar' is a common term in currency trading and finance (in addition to AUD which is the abreviation), curious to know why you think it doesnt sound right.

It is of no relevance what the results are in google unless people are actually using the term as a brand. ie if there was a dozen companies calling themselves "Au Dollar" or sites with domains like audollar.net.au, audollarsite.com.au, that would be a good sign.

I've never heard anyone say "au dollar", I can understand it might be written as an abbreviation but why is anyone going to want to buy this name? and what would be the obvious usage?

Actually the Aussie dollar is more commonly referred to as the 'Aussie' or 'Aussie Dollar' in currency trading. However when I am looking for news on the Aussie I would usually search 'AUD news' - or more specifically 'aud/usd news' for example. Not 'Au dollar news'...

It's either 'AUD' or 'Australian Dollar' ('Aussie Dollar' is also common). This doesn't work for me because it's a combination of the two, which just isn't used by anyone I know (including finance, gov and other professionals).

It's not a terrible domain, but I don't think it warrants development.
