Difficult to say...

I think a lot of people would pay $0 if they saw it on the expiry auctions, but if a company really wants it, then maybe your $5k is worth a try...? If it was mine I'd let it go for less though.

Tend to think that anyone interested would not wish to pay anything near that amount and would most likely just find another name for reg fee, good luck

Thanks Shane, yes a little tricky, as you say it comes down to how badly they want it.

I have a company interested in a domain I own - aussiepayroll.com.au
Is a valuation of $5k realistic?
thanks RR
If you get anywhere near $5k, I will eat my hat (or should I say my auDA cap). :) But for your sake, I hope you do!

Just a heads up - I had a look at the WhoIs for your domain, and it is registered under an expired ABN. That can present you with a real problem. You should look at rectifying that asap.

Thanks for the heads up Neddy, I'll get onto that asap. Fingers crossed your hat is tasty :)

This is how I see it.

The name isn't really worth anything. So it comes down to chance really (unless you know something about the buyer and what their budget could potentially be). I would ask $5000, however I'd say that for just about any name. Though most of the time I'd expect a buyer to walk from that (95% of the time they will have a budget more like $10-$500). So you'd need several dozen genuine buyers before you get a sale.

If you want better odds, e.g. 30% chance of sale probably need to be asking $250-$500. Its up to you, what kind of odds do you want?

Don't ask, don't get. I am 50% when asking for top dollar ($5k is over top dollar for that domain). I can live with that hit rate to be honest. Good luck either way.
