hi, this is true but I have to skirt around the name sorry

no soap.com.au is not dropping but it is a good example of what I am talking about.

I know we have spoken about this before but there is a domain I think will drop soon and its trademarked, its VERYYYYY generic.

my issue is, I will not be using it for commercial use if I get it, meaning it will be an info site for something I am interested in, but it will be in the same genre of the trademark owner who for some reason has let it drop.

so lets use soap as an example, they own the trademark... for soap,

I want to buy the domain and have an information site about soap, no advertising, no monetisation, just a site that helps people pick the correct soap for them.

am I going to get into hot water?

I'm not going to compete against them, I will NEVER want to sell it, and how the F does someone manage to trademark SOAP !!!!

i'll have to do more investigating as the present owner is a VERYYYYYY large company

Hi Tim,

Does RealEstate v RealEstate1 help set any precedents for you?

It's got the same
and how the F does someone manage to trademark REAL ESTATE
vibe to it by the sounds of your post?

Ash.

Re Realestate.com.au.

They haven't got a trademark over "real estate". The trademark is simply the domain.
