Is this worth domain worth $251 they paid for wrong type in traffic or do you think they thought it was facebook.com.au?

Probably will get a policy delete from it,

Nothing probable about it. It's on the official auDA List of Prohibited Misspellings.

$251 + GST + reg fee down the gurgler.

Though I thought Netfleet had previously committed to fix this situation:

Hi Guys

Quick update - we've now rolled out the software that shows MS (Misspelling) next to a domain if it appears on auDAs misspelling list:

http://www.auda.org.au/policies/auda-2008-09/

For example, nimemsn.com.au on todays list.

Cheers
Mark

It is amazing that the registrant is a reseller and also someone who ran for election at the last auDA Election, they should know better.

As Neddy said, this domain is clearly on auDA's list of prohibited misspellings, so why buy it....

The purchaser is actually quite lucky - the auDA prohibited misspellings policy will probably save him from potential legal action by Facebook. ;)

They have no qualms about protecting their rights as you can see from article below:

Facebook Scores $2.8M Default Judgment Against Cybersquatters

On April 30, 2013, Facebook, Inc. was awarded approximately $2.8 million dollars in statutory damages against several parties seeking to unfairly capitalize on its trademark rights, by deliberately misspelling and/or otherwise improperly using the Facebook mark in their domain names.

After reading about the legal repercussions it's not nearly as funny as I imagined it would be.

G'day everyone.

This was done in error. Netfleet was contacted within seconds and they refused to remove the bid. Subsequently AuDA was contacted and made aware this was an error. I note the domain is now in Client Requested Policy Delete.

Thankfully Commonwealth Bank didn't agree with Netfleet's view of things and I am happy to say we didn't pay a cent for this. If Netfleet's merchant agreement is anything like ours, this likely cost *them* a chargeback fee. Interestingly, CBA didn't even want to know what the story was. As soon as they saw it was Net Alliance Pty Ltd they did an instant reversal (whereas it usually takes 45 days apparently). They didn't say why they didn't require information on the transaction or a waiting period when reversing the transaction. They did say this is usually because the merchant is "known to them."

If Cooper Mills DomainLawyer is familiar with my AuDA nomination then he will be very aware that I both me and my staff hold AuDA policy in high regard.

its called bankrupt and start again, no everyday person would end up with having to pay 2.8mil, its only companies that have 2.8mil spare change that pay those bills.

I don't think it would affect your grand kids, what would happen is your smartest kid would write a book on "I'm the son/daughter of the guy that owes facebook 2.8mil" and then support you for life, LOL

just ask schapelle

How could one bid on "Faceboook" as an "error".

Yet that been said it is kind of worrying that Netfleet does not have a bid retraction ability for errors, seems this is a common issue they have not addressed.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH, come on NF, what the F are you doing ?

I've received emails today telling me faceboooooooooooooooooooooooooook is up for sale again and when I go to NF the domain is number ONE.

HEY, why don't you just put a BIM price on it and hope the buyer doesn't bank with CBA ?

this is ridiculous , its worse then utube

NF you need to take some corporate responsibility here.

just delete it from being bidded on, place a HUGE warning on it, you have an opportunity to show that you actually do care and at the time of this post you have 22 hours to do so otherwise you are just saying to all of us ........ F OFF

so stop the BS and come out and say F OFF domainers

grab your balls and comment and please do not give us a politicians response.

I am going to cut and paste this into your section so you definitely get this post, if you are not monitoring your DNT thread well then that show a lot as well.

littlebooteek.com.au purchased it,

People probably thing about the typo traffic and a 301, thinking it will drive sales. They do not think about the legal issues around it.
