Chris, I quite like this domain - and think it is definitely saleable.

As to value, that's a hard one.

What I'd do is let the market tell you what it is worth.

I just put "cheap seo" into Google and their are squillions of people advertising with that term.

So why don't you try an email to 20 or 30 of these people? Try a novel approach perhaps:

"I have this domain name cheapseo.com.au that I acquired at auction some time ago. However things have changed and I need to sell it.

So I put the term into Google, and saw that there are heaps of SEO providers using this term as a key word. So I figured it must have some sort of value to a professional SEO expert.

The trouble is I don't know what it is worth. So I thought I'd ask the people that are in the industry.

May I please ask what you think it could be worth?

Or would you possibly be interested yourself - or do you someone who may be?

I'd appreciate any help or advice you could give me please".

I'm pretty sure we've discussed this domain before. I think it was a drop from memory. I like the domain but the cheap aspect of it might bring you customers who don't want to spend a lot of money. Given they want cheap, perhaps a DIY type guide would be better suited than an on-going SEO campaign for such leads.

I think it could have value as an upsell domain - an end user could use the domain to offer an entry level budget package and then once the client sees the value of SEO they can upgrade to a professional package.

I am sure their is a market out their for this domain, but personally it is not something I would buy.

In terms of price I would place it around $300 or so.

GoodURL and agreed with Neddy, hold a silent auction to 30 of the top people trying to rank or bidding on that space.

i think it has worth but it needs to rank LOL as a name like that needs to be number one for people to take it seriously.

i'll see james bid and up to $301, LOL

good hold out !
Thanks.

I'm lucky that I don't have any debt or cash flow issues associated with my domains. So I'm in a position where I can bide my time and wait for a decent offer...

I probably received 3 or 4 good offers ($750 - $1500) on this domain over the last couple of years, which I knocked back.

Obviously I always get nervous when I knock back a $1500 offer in the hope that some other buyer is willing to pay $2500+.

That strategy hasn't always paid off - but luckily for me on this occasion it has.

It's value is $1500-$2000
I reckon it's valued at at least $2600+ given that is what it just sold for...

I remember discussing this domain with you on here Chris when you first bought it on the drop for $13 or so - as I own CheapWebsiteDesign.com.au which I thought would make a good pair.
Interestingly I almost had a sale on that domain for $1000 to a UK company looking to set up in Australia, but it fell though due to some odd communication issues.

Just out of curiosity - did you contact them or did they contact you?
