It's been a while, so here's one of my latest (.com domain):

CucinaItaliana

I think it's my best buy of the year so far (paid low $xxxx) - but what do you think?

'GAKT is not exact'

I always treat it as a general guide, though a very useful one (and arguably one of the best measures we have at our disposal).

looks like a good one. would never have thought of it, unexpected, but looks quite good.

Thanks for the feedback Peter.

One of my focus areas is gourmet food and drink (the other main one is travel/tourism). These days I stick with subjects that I'm very familiar with and sometimes I snag a bargain that others miss (well I think it was a bargain anyway :) ).

I wasted a lot of money and energy using the classic 'shotgun' approach in the past, I've had much better results since I've narrowed my focus to areas where I have some expertise.

US stats are 1600, most of the rest is from Italy. I think $1000-$2000 would be about right.

Just wondering what tool are you using snoopy, cos I get 27,100 local exacts using GAKT in the US for Cucina Italiana .com ?

depends on the term, in this case it really makes much more sense in the italian market hence the low exacts in the US.

Agreed, it really depends on the term.

For example, 'La Cucina Italiana' is an internationally distributed magazine and I buy copies here in Australia just as someone would in America or around the globe.

'Cucina Italiana' is used in business names across the world, in fact most of the initial search results you will see are American businesses.

The term is obviously most popular in Italy, you only have to look at the Wikipedia page to see why, it's the Italian term for 'Italian Cuisine':
Italian cuisine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here's the Italian counterpart for those who are fluent:

Update:

I've turned down multiple offers on this domain already, all of which have been from Italy so far. It seems this was an even better buy than I thought.

Quick update:
  • I've received a few further offers on the domain. The top offer so far is around 10x the price I paid
  • I've decided not to sell the domain
  • will be developing and launching the site later this year (work commenced in late 2013)
