Ha ha not mine David, just found out reserves can be hidden now.

So that explains why it did not go to the drop list today.

Who ever got solarpanel.net.au for $30 which was mine was a bargain, I think I paid $300 od 3 years ago. :(

Don

did you let it drop purposely?

did anyone else have trouble getting a bid in, the timer was working but the bid button wouldn't? i closed the browser and tried a few differnt browser but nothing worked, i ended up having to bid via my iphone ?

i tried to bid about 20 minutes out so luckily i had time to sort a solution but its not fun when that happens , didn't have time to restart the computer but as i said the timer was working. i was able to log out and then log in again.

was it just me?

It has been an exciting week with the merged Aftermarket and Expired domain auctions. We saw 3x domains starting at no reserve ending over 1K.

Rp.com.au kicked it all off selling for $1,889
then Bs.com.au two days later for $1,568
followed by WaterPurifiers.com.au for $1,223

What are your thoughts on these sales?

Didn't realise these had no reserve. Sellers deserve respect for taking the risk-- IMO it paid off they are decent prices.

Anthony, can you divulge how the bidding went? nor how many bidders there were at least?

I can't comment on the first two because I don't know how to value them, but I think $1223 is a good "auction result" for WaterPurifiers.com.au.

That said, I think it's probably a $2500 to $5000 domain at a retail level, but I think getting 50% of retail price is a great result for an auction and a testament to the NF system.

And I agree with David, lots of respect to the seller who put them up for no reserve!

I definitely wouldn't be putting up a $2500 domain up for auction with no reserve.

Yes total respect to the seller for taking the risk.

rp.com.au had 8 bidders, with 3 active in the final minute.
bs.com.au had 5 bidders, with 2 active in the final minute.
WaterPurifiers.com.au had 5 bidders, with 2 active in the final minute.

We also had a few big domains which did not reach reserve like
SouthernCross.com.au turned in at $2001
HousePlans.com.au turned in at $3000

i was 1 of those 5, but "in the final minute" , well it wasn't me as i struggled to get my bid in on it with 15mins to go! , but honestly i wasn't in the game for that price, i was the winning bid until the final seconds when it sat at $301 but i really knew i was going to lose and thats all cool.

i just put my proxy in and sat back and watched.

congrats to the new owner

If you stay in your budget you are still winning .....just in a different way

true, you always have to just say to yourself "whats it worth to me" , i have had my proxy bids of over 10 times what i actually ended up paying for the domain and go "YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH" and other times i get beaten by MILESSSSS so its just a game.

guess what ? theres more drop tomorrow :D

Hi Guys

I have a suggestion for changes or inclusions to help improve your site -

Can you guys place an automatic "adult" filter on the site and if a prospect wants to include adult then it can be unticketed.

Cheers

Bahh...let the prudes deal with the odd 'naughty' name IMO (plus would be bloody hard to implement correctly)

Hi Webponic - thanks for your suggestion.

To be honest, there isn't much of a driver for this...we've never had a complaint about adult names in 5 years, and there isn't much of a commercial reason to do it.

Anyhow, please keep em coming!

Cheers
