As requested by Snoopy, I have put this domain in an individual appraisal thread to allow people to discuss it by itself.

I'm interested to know what you think this domains would sell for if it was dropping on Snapper:

goldenretrieverpuppies.com.au [1900] "6600" $0.82

Honest appraisals desired. I can handle the truth.

Not really an animal person, but puppies are pretty expensive aren't they? To a breeder this could be worth High $xxx-$1,000ish? (one or two puppies?)

Would say maybe $100.

Would disregard the CPC figure, competition is low & there is nobody at the top of the page so a high CPC is likely a negative sign that advertisers can't effectively target the traffic.

Could it also be that most breeders are not tech savvy and wouldn't even know that there were ads in Google let alone try buying some? I know my wife didn't realise they were ads until a couple of years ago, and only because I told her.

I tend to think the industries that don't really advertise online are the ones where it doesn't work well.

Suspect the main issues is most of the searches are probably people looking for cute pics of dogs, I think also it would be extremely difficult to monetize the traffic, the % of people that would buy a puppy without actually seeing it in person is tiny in my view so it would really be about general advertising. So it is potentially "just advertising" not sales, then you've got to contend with a term where perhaps most of the people aren't actually looking for a dog to buy, so it becomes a bit like say the "Sydney" example a while ago where nobody is advertising on the term because nobody can really monetize the traffic effectively. Obviously there is a few advertisers (unlikely Sydney and many other geos) but it has much the same problem and is a term that is going to be very difficult to monetize.

Thanks, and yeah I think a breeder could do quite well with this domain.

That said, I'm asking how much people think it would sell for on Snapper.

And I don't think many breeders would actively be bidding on Snapper, and even then you'd need two breeders who were competiting for the domain to drive the price up.

Definite domain for an end user.
Indeed, but what do you think a domainer/developer would pay for it on Snapper?

Would say maybe $100.
Thanks Snoopy.

I'm assuming this is the price you'd think it would go for on Snapper right?
