Seriously fed up with a particular Australian Registrar, who for the time being I will not post who it is as I'm giving them one last chance (believe it or not) to get their act together however I'm after some advice on how to proceed...

I have used this registrar for close to 4 years, with no problems, up until approx 8 months ago when everything stopped working.

I can log into my account, but attempting to renew domains, modify dns, browse my domains...NOTHING WORKS!

Now I have noticed that half of my domains are no longer in my account, others are duplicated, others still appear which i no longer own and in one case 1 domain name that i'm sure I did renew is now registered to another business!!!!

Anyhow I need to change my DNS records.... as i have changed hosting companies but of course, that does not work either.

Has been like this for close to 8 months, the only way i renew domains is by phone, however now their not even appearing in my account... agggghhh!!

Anyhow a quick check of the whois records they are still registered to me (all but 1 domain), I have considered moving to another registrar, though at this stage as I own a large amount of domains I really do not wish to fork out the two year renewal fee of every domain I have with them.

Do you think making a complaint to the AUDA will make any difference, I am a member with the AUDA.

You can move registrar without paying a 2 year fee on every domain. Only domains due to be renewed in the next 30(?) days will need to be renewed during the move.

Just move already is my advice.

Yikes! How very 1995.

Generally doesn't cost anything to transfer between registrars... except some will force you to renew at the same time, if your domains are within 90 days of expiry.

Move your names now to another registrar. I find www.ventraip.com.au and www.onlydomains.com the best at the moment with good support.

Its like Banks shop around and if they let you down move your business to someone who treats you better and provides what you want

I was under the impression I was going to have to pay for every domain to be renewed; I have existing accounts with other registrars (zip hosting, crazy domains and smarty host) so will give them a call in the morning and see what they can offer me, otherwise will call those listed in replies.

Cheers.

On second thought seeing that their is now 2 recommendations for Ventra, I will give them a go (never heard Of them previously)

Checked out there site and apparently the transfer fee for au domains is free, so going through the transfer form on their site now.

BTW if anyone wishes to know the registrar i was referring to feel free to pm.

it's not to hard to work out who you are referring to - your experience is similar to mine

There are a few good Registrars to choose from including, Netregistry, Drop, Ventra (others as well, I just haven't personally used them)- the support with Netregistry and Drop has been first class in my experience - I haven't had a chance to use Ventra's support.

Shop around, cheapest isn't always the best....

Done, transferred all domains out of the previous provider to Ventra IP, and confirmed so now awaiting it all to be finalised.

Only had to pay for one of the domains as it was due for renewal in under 90 days.

Really wish I had posted this 8 months ago, what would i do without dntrade!

My experience with Net Registry (Zip Hosting) has been great so I will keep my domains with them.

Cheers
