WOW, thanks Ned, maybe its just my "systems mind" that made the post as thats what i do , and just myself learning about drops i find accessing information quickly is the best method.

Well looks like Domain Central have done it again for me and let a domain I own drop, I never recieved a renewal notice and can see why, whois has contact details of previous owner still showing see below. Is there anyway I can get this domain back now?

Well looks like Domain Central have done it again for me and let a domain I own drop, I never recieved a renewal notice and can see why, whois has contact details of previous owner still showing see below. Is there anyway I can get this domain back now?

Thanks Rod, I'll be talking to Domain Central on Monday, it was not even showing in my account either, I know I own it as I won it on their drop service 2 years ago.

being "nice" here.... as its happened to me and i lost a great domain and learnt from it. I truly think if you own it then its your responsibility to manage it.

unfortunately it takes an istance like this ( as it did for me) to learn the lesson.

I'm primarily writing this for newbies who land on this post not to you geodomains.

( i posted this elsewhere but i'll quickly repeat it) ALL my domains go to the one email address, domains@......, both the ones i own and the ones i manage for others. THEN also they are placed into my quickbooks as a recurring invoice thus my wife also reminds me.

thus i have my domain registra emailing me and my wife telling me its due.

"if its good enough to register then its good enough to spend some TIME making sure you keep it"

No problems with what you said, I know. I've been transfering my domains from DC 2 months before they are due for renewal to another registrar because their backend is full of faults.
This domain didn't even show in my account which sucked as I would have transfered it.
Hope you read this James from Domain Central :mad:

i think this is getting "off-thread" ? ned should we move it to somewhere else as i think its a good thread topic?

The positive in the negative is that in a forum like this these companies need to realise the power of the forum. if you look at googles recent changes to search and it direction of personalised search result with recommended based results then these big companies that do the wrong thing will see a significant effect on their revenue.

google + and facebook, twitter can almost bring down companies !

I had a problem with clixgalore, i had NOOOO response and i mean i couldn't get anyone to even return an email or phone call !!! , so i emailed them and said i am going to post it online..... still no reply.... so i posted it and sent them the link. I didn't slander , i just told the FACTS. still nothing !!! can you believe it? so then i emailed the same link to the USA, as many email addresses as i could find, THEN my phone rang. and they fixed the issue but that is SH*^T service. I've since had the problem again but this time with a swifter response most likely because i phone the guy direct and left a message that started with " remember me...."

anyway i've closed my accounts with them now, any online business that does business like that is not worth doing business with.

still waiting on my last cheque !!!!

As per our chat this afternoon Don, make sure you send them the bill on Monday for whatever it goes for on the drops tomorrow. I believe they have a moral obligation to do the right thing by you.

Whilst the ultimate responsibility is yours to look after all your domains; the difference here is that they stuffed the registant contact address up in the first place - which is why you never got an email.

This is all to common, I had domains with someone else's contact email address, not sure how many domains were effected but I have had them fixed

Hey Don - I was just reading "Domain Shane's" blog, and he had a "sort of" similar experience with GoDaddy.

Bought the domain at auction some time ago; assumed it was in his account; sold it last week. He then gets an email saying "are you sure you're the owner?".

Slightly happy ending - but it does reinforce the fact that every single one of us need to be diligent. That's going to be a shock to my system because I am notoriously slack, and suffer from dementia because I'm an old bugger like you. :D

Had the same scenario with 27.com.au a few months back. Really sucks...

However I'm sure all of us who play the drops have benefited from these sorts of stuff ups more than we have lost out...

Yes certainly brings it home when it's yours to lose, I've spoken to James and he said to send the email with copy of sale price achieved, so hoping Domain Central do the right thing and re-inburse me for my loss.

Netfleet must of had some sort of glitch today perhaps?

Erhan will be very happy - got EmploymentLawyer.com.au really cheap compared to what it went for on NF.
