SEO Challenge

With a view to making our marketplace more interactive between domain owners and service providers, I thought it might be fun to kick things off
with an SEO Challenge. :)

If there are SEO experts out there that would like to put their skills to the test, this challenge could reap you great rewards if you are successful.

The Challenge

Take on www.superannuationguide.com.au and SEO it to get it to page one on Google for one or more terms within a maximum time period of 6 weeks.

This site used to rank on Page 1 for the term “superannuation guide”; but has now slipped off the radar (I think it is about Page 13 currently).

If you succeed on one term or all, you will get well rewarded on a sliding scale. If you don’t, then there is no payment. A true win / win scenario.

The Brief

The terms I want to rank for are as follows:

“superannuation guide” – should be relatively easy to get it back to page one given that it is exact match.

“self managed super” – moderate difficulty

“superannuation” – very challenging

What’s in it for you?

 • Good $$$$ if you are successful.

 • The challenge!

 • Kudos and publicity on a variety of websites and forums – people love winners.

 • More business (not only from me, but from other members).

If you’re interested in possibly participating (and get further information), please register your interest by PM or email me at: domains at fussy dot com dot au.

I hope there is someone out there up for the challenge!

Cheers, Ned

Is this just for one person or are multiple people doing to be working on this?

Sorry - I should have clarified.

Hopefully I get a few expressions of interest from people willing to take up this win / win challenge.

I'm then going to choose one person or firm to work with.

Then if the interest is there, I'm going to put up another project - and then another ..........

And if this concept takes off, well I'm sure other members here will jump on the bandwagon too.

As I said - win / win - we're looking at DNT becoming a free* marketplace for Aussie domain owners and providers.

* That could change down the track - ha ha!

So basically it's:

You can do 6 weeks of SEO for me, and if you fail, you wont be paid.

But if you do succeed, you will be paid at a rate yet to be determined.

Heck, i'll put up some sites for this challenge.

Before making assumptions like this Paul, you should perhaps find out exactly what I am offering. ;)

Rates are determined.

I'm trying to be positive and create win / win opportunities for myself, other DNT members, and service providers.

A good initiative
A bit like a "deal" but with a very targeted audience for the SEO operators
Where else can they find such a cluster of potential clients like this?

I knew I should have bought that domain from you Ned!! :)

Good idea, I'll definitely be watching closely to see the results as this is the type of service that would appeal to my business. Would be a good achievement and generate business for whoever is picked to take up the challenge.

Ned; is that another way of saying that the cricket is exciting?

You're starting to know me well Greg. ;)

It wasn't just the cricket though - had some other things to sort out as well. Got about ten balls in the air at the moment!

Thanks to those that responded by email and PM. I have made some nice new acquaintances. :)

For this particular domain, Gab Machuret (SEOconsultant) has kindly agreed to take on the challenge. Thanks Gab.
For those that haven't seen his blog, it is here: www.internetninja.com.au

Gab will be posting regular weekly updates as to what he has done - and what sort of progress he has achieved.

I for one am looking forward to seeing a professional at work - and learning some tips and techniques.

Hopefully this helps some other members as well.

Stay tuned for other challenges and opportunities. :)

Not to hijack your challenge neddy, but I'd love to see this done as a proper competition. We could pick a real tail keyword in a very uncompetitive vertical, set a few basic rules (maybe no keywords in domain names) and see which of us can take the top spot. I'd be much more keen for that kind of challenge!

Yeah I have been in those types of competitions before in the US market, where every one has to rank for a generic term, yet another rule was all sites had to be on new domains.
