is there a way to monitor the Page rank of .com.au domains being sold on netfleet or you just have to check yourself ?
i kn ow there are sites that will give you stats on domains for .coms but are there sites which give you stats on .com.au domains being sold ?

Dean, there are so many more variables to consider before anyone could even hazard a guesstimate!

e.g. traffic / search volume; what niche; is it high or low value CPC (cost per click); what sort of backlinks are they; and quite a few more.

Hi dean, nobody here really takes into account backlinks and PR with old/dropped domains. Those are really only valuable to someone who are using them for SEO

There are daily drop auctions at netfleet.com.au (Snapper Auction) and drop.com.au every day, these finish at 2pm AEDT.

Netfleet have their After Market Auction (AMA) almost everyday with the auction finish time at 2.30pm.

I have been 100% spot on unsuccessful on every occasion that I purchased a domain name in the expired auctions that had page rank. geodomains is the only person that I know of personally that has had great success at this, so I know it can be done. However, the best name and also the highest pr that comes to mind is when I purchased blessed.com.au and it had a pr6. I got it online straightaway and the next rankings adjustment it was down to a pr1. I look at it as a fantastic purchase for $350 or whatever it was, but still if the pr would have held up I would've said uber fantastic. :)

If you pick something up on the drops though doesn't it end up being a new reg? I'm sure it wouldn't be instantaneous but any real benefit/juice would eventually be lost wouldn't it?

Keen to know :)

I have always found expired .au domains kept their 'juice' and PR better than .com / .org / .net etc. I always thought this was because Google could not as easily see the expiration date on .au domains. That might now change because dropping .au domains are now made public. However I have picked up quite a few expired and dropping .au domains that re-gain good PR that seems to stick better than other TLDs.

Some of my highest PR domains came from expired .au domains several years ago and the PR never changed.

Also Google is a registrar for many gTLDs but not for Australia AFAIK so definitely easier for .au drops to slip under the radar ;)
