yeah but they probably won't rank with out killer link building, I can see Google blacklisting this TLD.

But from a typo point of view it will not get traction too...

How exactly is this a scam? People can either pay to block their trademark or it can be like any other tld where they can let the free market take its course. In reality nobody is going to care about harverynorman.xxx except perhaps Gerry Harvey's lawyers.

if you think that .xxx or .tel or .aero (just for few examples) haven't been a massive giant rip-off, then I don't know what to say anymore.

you don't have to buy a .xxx extension if you have a trademark, it is a bit of a beat up. The reality is that this one will be a fizzer, and if it really mattered then the UDRP option is open to trademark owners anyway. Companies are better off spending the money on registering a trademark...

As James says, I reckon it wont be long before Google blacklists or restricts xxx - it already imposes restrictions on adult material with Adsense

Google is killer for any type of non family friendly image with adsense.

I had a "sexy girl" image she was fully clothed just "sexy" and they sent me an angry warning telling me to take it down.

These are unsuccessful extensions (the last two), the fact that they haven't caught on or the fact that domainers have lost money on them doesn't make them "a scam".
