Two Offers to Consider

Hi Guys,

Have an offer of $800 + GST for motelsales.com.au & $700 + GST for hotelsales.com.au

Both are end users, I feel they are pretty good offers but thought I would ask the experts before accepting?

Any thoughts

Not an expert :)

To me neither is worth much as you rent/stay at hotels/motels and obviously don't buy them for an overnight stay. If someone were buying a hotel or motel I would think they'd search buy hotel not hotel sales

I personally would take the offers if that was their final offer.

Have you asked for more?

That is a certainly a different point of view......but I do respect your opinion and point of view.

Just to make sure we understand what these domain names can be used for: There is a huge industry around the sale of Freehold and Leasehold Motels as they are very solid investments, they also sell for many millions of dollars. The same with the financing of freehold and leasehold hotels...again a large industry with most major real estate franchises and all major banks having specialist divisions for both areas.

Whilst their may not be 1000's of searches a month for either, one converted lead per month could mean 10's of thousands in commissions.....certainly value in both domains from an end users point of view. IMO :D

I understand and agree, they certainly would only be attractive to the end user, not the average domainer or developer etc. :)

Agreed, but this is also the sort of industry that probably won't come knocking at your door for the domains very often.

I think the offer so far is what I'd class as "fair" offer, it's definitely not an "amazing" offer, but if you could get the buyer into the low $1,XXX range I'd class it as "very good" deal for you.

Whilst I do agree that the buyers (if they develop the domains) could make quite a bit, at the end of the day it requires "development", that requires times, money and expertise and if you don't have these things you are never going to get a price that reflects that potential.

As domainers we are just trying to find middle ground between reg price and that potenital.

Business needs to be a win win for both parties for business to happen and I don't think those domains would get more than $200 on the NF AMA. So I would take the "fair" money while it's on the table.

did you sell motelsales.com.au for $800?

I would of done more research did you check who owns the .net.au?

I think the company would of paid more...

really I would of thought they would of wanted it .net.au over a .com.au:confused:

I just think they simply did not understand the value or the science behind having it. Pretty old school I believe, think they still do everything with a pad and pencil :)
