Spotlight on .com

Just noticed Spotlight using spotlightstores.com on their tv ad.
I checked and yes spotlight.com.au redirects there…

interesting they feel adding a second word to have the .com works for them over .com.au

If they are expanding to other countries, a .com makes sense... as other counties would not get com.au all that much and I assume that they would have preferred the single .com but that is already in use and they would not sell to them.

Not that hard to use multiple domain extensions. I just think they have no interest in .au
