So I have a few domains coming up for renewal and it's times like these I wondering what valuations I had on these domains 24 months ago that made me buy them.

So I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on which, if any, of the following domains would be worth at least $100+:

homefitnessequipment.com.au

businesscopiers.com.au

Seem to be the only ones I like from this bunch =)

Are many driving traffic via type in's? Or revenue?

I quite like them all. Trouble is none stand out to be good enough to justify developing but at the same time seems a waste to throw them away.

Have you sold many domains like this? Do they make any revenue?

Equation is 50 domains cost $500pa to hold. Maybe between them they make $200 in parking? So net cost is $300, say

Then if each domain has a 1% chance of selling for $600 (or a 2% chance of selling for $300, or a 0.5% chance of selling for $1,200 or even a 0.05% chance of selling for $12,000 etc) more you would keep them as you will make money over the long term.

On the one hand the work has been done in finding them but on the other hand you don't want to fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy http://youarenotsosmart.com/2011/03/25/the-sunk-cost-fallacy/

Maybe I could phrase the question differently to make it easier for people to give feedback.

Which of these domains would you be willing to at least place the minimum bid if they were being auctioned at the NF snapper auction?

I ask this because my general feeling is that domains that get bought on snapper or drop tend to have retail value of at least three figures.

Thanks for the feedback.

I couldn't tell you, I don't have them individually parked.

That said, I wouldn't think so.

LOL now you can see my conundrum.

:D

Domains like this... not really. I don't aggressively market my domains. I tend to develop them and just wait for buyers to come, if they come.

Equation is 50 domains cost $500pa to hold. Maybe between them they make $200 in parking? So net cost is $300, say

I don't think I'd be this optimistic. In my mind all of these domains are low-mid three figure domains AT BEST, at worst they are worth nothing.

On the one hand the work has been done in finding them but on the other hand you don't want to fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy http://youarenotsosmart.com/2011/03/25/the-sunk-cost-fallacy/
Exactly.

I'm actually graduated in economics, so I'm acutely aware of the irrationality of holding onto a loss making investment, thus me looking for third party feedback.

The problem of course with domains is the market isn't' liquid or rational enough to be able to confidently estimate "market price" to base investment decisions on.

you've answered the question then. Drop them all except for a couple of favourites, maybe
