Interesting to see the price variations especially stuff like .xyz and a lot of the others with large volumes where the price is often $1 at the cheapest registrars.

Agree devaluation of pricing attracts spammers like bee's to honey. But asking too much also is not a good Marketing Strategy.

Not sure why, maybe .tk gets filter heavily in spam filters? Maybe it takes too long to register? Must must be some reason why all spammers aren't using it.
Apparently 90% of the worlds spam originates and comes from America, https://www.spamhaus.org/rokso/

Spammers probably don't use tk for the very reason that when you get either good rankings or traffic, they close your account and use the site for their own ads, or sell it to someone for profit. http://www.techelex.org/why-not-use-dot-tk-domain/

I suppose you have to know that comment spam in WordPress is not the only culprit, that site also refers to malware viruses, emails, etc all considered unsolicited spam. And we don't really know how many transactions of information or what data they are really using to base that off.
