A couple of quality domains dropping tomorrow...

Thoughts?

Estimates on this these ones?

Dietitian.com.au
Pediatrics.com.au
PrepaidInternet.com.au
Framing.com.au
Aerials.com.au
Quilt.com.au
Lawn.com.au
Retailer.com.au
OnlineCarInsuranceQuote.com.au
Tapestry.com.au

Does tomorrow have the potential to have many 4 figure domains sales?

Many more people on the drops these days and to some 4 figures is nothing to pay for a name they want. Wont be long before 5 figure name sales are more common the way things are going

still lots of good names around if you contact owners directly and not on the drop / auction . There is lots of gems on the standard netfleet listings seems though many listers dont reply to bids or questions so the standard catalogue listings sales rarely close these days. Pretty sure netfleet doesnt care as they make no money from standard catalogue listing sales so they dont make it a priority to promote them anymore.. In fact its a bit hard to even find them now

There is no continuing validation of the listings. They last foooorever.

I bought a few domains privately that are still showing as available in the netfleet standard listings. No real reason for the previous owner to care enough to remove them.

I've rallied previously for listings to last a set time and be removed unless the user listing them validates they are still for sale. Even 12 months would be ok. Then an auto generated email asking them to click a validation link to say nothings changed and it's still for sale.

Also did a whois ausregistry search and emailed them at their email address to see how much they wanted.. no reply.. maybe they dont use the email address any longer... which will mean the names will eventually probably drop and they lose the money they could have had.

When using proxy/auto bids, does it immediately bid up against others high proxy amounts or does it wait until near end of auction?

I think if you are leading , you will be leading from the time of the highest bid

Your proxy may have more to go but if you are the current highest bidder you will be leading

interesting day today, so many nice names, and no particular reason or pattern for them dropping today.

Really? I assumed many would be owned by the same registrant. I've not checked but that's the case with tomorrow's pd's

If not must be something interesting that happened 2x years plus 31 days ago

wow big day for sales. probably a lot of people smiling now with the value of their domain names increasing so much these days.

Got into the flow and picked up a few for cheap :)

Still we are a long way short of the prices .com are going for. These prices make .com.au's look like absolute bargains!

http://www.thedomains.com/2012/11/01/24-million-in-domain-sales-to-be-added-to-dnjournal-com/ Marchex owned them all and makes a quick $24 Million! Bought one from this list also after 8 years of negotiations! :)

my researched showed a random set of owners, like most i think i thought it would have come from 1 person given there was so much quality there.

is it 2 years or 4 years ago really?, did the GFC have anything to do with today? just a theory

Great domains although i feel they are very specific niche orientated. Couldn't find a development plan for a lot of them. Although the way things are going there will need to be more and more dieticians. lol

any generic keyword is worth the prices from today people paid. Some could even be worth 5 figures from that list.

Luckily very few people still know about the domain drops and netfleet. Would be interesting to see how many people are actually viewing the auction.

example http://daa.asn.au/for-the-public/

4700 registered dietitions. for dietition.com.au make it a Dietition directory and ask them all for an $11 or $110 listing fee, throw in some banner ads . Just do the numbers. or sell it to a media outlet such as Reed Publishing who does niche websites for industry groups. To companies like that 5 figures is nothing to pay for an undeveloped generic name they want
