Cheap-Insurance.net.au - worth anything?

Hey guys,

I registered this domain name for a client over 12 months ago but we didn't decide to put it to use.

Is there any value in this domain name?

Obviously 'cheap insurance' would be an OK keyword - not so much traffic from it but I'm sure with a bit of effort and energy it would be a nice domain name for a number of other insurance related keywords too.

Thanks!

Whilst I'm here, I may as well see what the value in the below domain names are as well:

brisbanedebtcollection.com.au
sydneydebtcollection.com.au
sydneydebt.com.au

The first two are definitely worth something imho.

But you'll get bugger all from a reseller / domainer, so best thing to do is send out a few emails to endusers and see what interest you get.

Not a fan. As is, bugger all imho.

But having said that, someone on DNT pointed out that the top ranking site for the term "credit cards" is credit-cards.net.au.

So if you can get a site up, and get it ranking in top 3, then it would be worth a bit. ;)

In my opinion, a domain value, unless top level (e.g. creditcards etc) doesn't hold much value especially from an SEO point of view.

Gone are the days when you could buy a URL, stick it up and get a few directory backlinks to rank on the first page. A domain with no content & having not been submitted to the engines holds little value unless you have big budgets to make it in to a brand.

I've got quite a few nice URLs now but I know without investment they're really only good to stop my competitors from buying them so I hold on to them.

neds right, these sort of domains don't reach their top $$ unless you employ a broker or do the "cold doors" yourself.

Hehe; you're preaching to the choir H3nry. :D

I've thought about developing them and taking them further to create more value behind it; takes a fair bit of time and energy which I'm lacking at the moment with work commitments.

I've sent a few emails off to Insurance companies that are trying to rank for a number of keywords; even emailed the "big boys" to see if they would be - interested. So far, no interest in the domain names. But I've had a few leads relating to SEO services - funny that!
