Blog & promote your domains

How many of you have a website or blog, and use this to promote the domains you sell? It seems like a worthwhile thing to do, as long as you can get some traffic to your blog of course.
Although I've not yet earned the title of domainer, I'm thinking of starting a blog just to write about things I'm learning, from people on this forum and elsewhere. I could then list my domains on the side for a little exposure? Worthwhile?

I agree with Scott, you are better targeting end users. if you want to write about your learnings, then you could ask DNT Admin to post an article on this forum, something like the does and donts of starting out in domaining

Hmmm, that's a really good point, thank you!
What sort of blog would appeal more to end-users? Making the topics more about choosing names for new businesses, rather than domaining? Being a small business owner and going through this process, I can probably write it from this angle, because that's how I got here in the first place.

There are a heap of things you could write about, benefits of short generic names etc. if you want articles to support your sales, then you are best driving people to main stream media articles which they can 'trust'

Thanks for the tips guys! I've started my blog, named Xplore Domain Space. The title might sound a little corny some some tastes, but hopefully some of the content will make up for it. :)
Next I'll be writing an article on how much help this forum has been (and continues to be!) for me, and how it's a great resource especially for Aussie domainers and business owners. It was a little hard for me at first, getting used to all the jargon and terminology, but once you get the hang of it, there's a wealth of information here.

Since you're going down this path, as well as xploredomain.space, it might be helpful to register and redirect exploredomain.space (which passes the radio test), along with xploredomainspace.com and exploredomainspace.com

Thank you Scott7! You're right of course...since this was really only going to be a personal blog, not a business or monitised site, I wasn't going to bother... but on seconds thoughts I should at least get the exploredomain.space domain to pass the radio test.
I'm not too fussed about leaking traffic to the .com domain, and I'd take it as a compliment if someone would bother to buy the .com just to get some of my traffic. ;)

PS Yes the theme needs some more tweaking to make it easier on the eyes, but I was more keen to get some of my thought down, than making it look good. Any tips most welcome of course :)

Forget about trying to promote names like that, if the name is any good it will naturally get inquiries, via whois or people going to the site. Those people will be motivated buyers.

Spend your time studying what makes a name valuable.
