I just read this story on Andrew Allemann's Domain Name Wire about the "sale" of 800.com

It reminded me that I have 800.com.au

Personally I don't think these sort of domains are worth much in the Aussie market.

What do you think?

Yeah as I've said before I think numerics get inflated prices in gTLD world because they have a very much global, non-language specific reach and you need that reach to get these big prices.

So no I don't think very suited to Aus market. As FPR says you've got to be really really lucky to snag an enduser in Australia.
