Gun.com.au

Hi

I bought gun.com.au for my business, but have yet to start the business - working for others is less time consuming.

I'm interested in what you think this might be worth if I were to sell it.

Thanks
Woodville

A nice generic however perhaps will be undervalued with our strict Australian firearms laws limiting the market. If it were a .com, you'd retire just from the sale :)

Slightly less appealing than the plural guns.com.au imo

I also think our society does not embrace guns as a rule but if you are in the business this is a great name, agreed, the plural is better i think high $xxx, i would say more but snoopy says the LLL market does not exist, good luck

There's a big difference between a random combination of three letters and a pronouncable three letter word.

Agree with others on the plural issue. Aside from use as a brandable, the obvious commercial use would favour the plural. For me that brings the price down a lot.

I think the range would be high $x,xxx to low $xx,xxx. Good domain name.

I think $2,000-$3,000. In my view this is going to be a hard sell to a non domainers because the target market is perhaps small business with a limited interest in domains.

Low $xx,xxx

The election result must have gone to your head Simon. ;)

If it sells for that, I'll happily bare by bum in the Bourke Street mall.

It's a nice 3L, but in my opinion, it's value would be lowish to mid 4 figures.

But very happy to be proved wrong. :)

i think guns.com.au is a better domain, although i think as above the market is small, but the person who would want it WILL want it.

i'd say low $x,xxx

don't forget GUN has many other avenues of branding, "orange" was a phone company, i can see it being very brandable for heaps of things.

GUN, advertising agency would be my first pick.

I think that market is limited because the term is somewhat negative. If you do a search on Google there isn't that many people using the term that way. So it is quite different to say "Orange" or "Prime" or "Crane" where there would be hundreds of companies already using the term as their brand.

Sorry for betraying my ignorance, but if I want to see what someone is prepared to pay, what do I do next? What's the best site/platform for getting offers?

Thanks

You're in the right place to ask questions.

For sales I use Netfleet for .com.au. You could also use Sedo, but I've found Netfleet to be better for .com.au.

The best way to get offers on your domain is through a monetised parking page that also includes a 'buy now' or 'make offer' link to purchase the domain.

I've seen quite alot for sale on Sedo and always wondered how people go selling on the site and whether or not they have sales fall over due to people not being eligible to register .au domain names.
