It would be nice, but would you pay $5k for mark.com.au? When you could get markyourlastname.com.au or markyourlastinitial.com.au for reg fee?

Good luck with the sale, I see you have it on name seek for 5k http://nameseek.com.au/domains/136/steve.com.au

You might get lucky and find an end user who really wants the name, but it has limited uses, and of little appeal to domainers, paticularly at that price point.

The 5k was really just a stab in the dark. But i will not sell this domain for less then $5k and thats that.
It doesn't just appeal to people named Steve. Before I owned this domain it was owned by a resort in WA, the resort name was "steven something something". I snapped it up when there IT guy forgot to renew the domain, 1 week after i got it they offered me significant money for it back, at the time though it was illegal to sell .com.au's PLUS i wasn't interested in the money.

I have also just last week been offered $3.5k for it from someone who is building an online beer and gifts store. I hadn't even had it advertised for sale yet. This is what gave me the idea to advertise it and see what people offer.

ps. there is plenty of first name domains being used as profitable business sites.

Good work stoscano for holding your ground, $5,000 isnt an extreme amount of money for a domain like that, and if you have had other offers without even attempting to sell, then you could be up for a nice sale. Good Luck

lol steve for a beer store...I can see how that would work...sorta.

Apparently they liked it, kinda play on the thing "whos steve?".

Who would of thought "adam.com.au" for an ISP?

Thanks soj.
I'm in no hurry to sell it either. Might even hold on for a few years when it will most likely be worth a hell of alot more.
At least i'm not like that guy trying to sell jacob.com.au for $150k on ebay.
